Peace of mind is an inner matter
Start with your thoughts and move outward.
Search your mind where there is fear
or resentments you hold dear.
As they rise up strong in your mind
Let them go, one at a time.
This will help you through the day
When you’re angry, this is what you’ll say.
I could see peace instead of this, I could see peace
I could see peace instead of this, I could see peace.
Search your mind for thoughts unloving
or a drama you’ve got running.
What is real, and what’s a dream?
Are you determined to see things differently?
Don’t you know there is a way
to escape from painful thoughts you made?
Am I a victim of what I see?
Do I have to be a victim of me?
I could see peace instead of this, I could see peace etc.
I see nothing as it is now.
Though I’m here, I see the past somehow.
It’s a prison I can leave:
I have only to realize I’m free.
So when fears rise up in my mind
I let them go, one at a time.
This will help me through the day
If I remember what I need to say.
I could see peace instead of this, I could see peace etc.
